How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Boat on Bonaire? (2026 Price Guide)

Bonaire boat rental

If you are planning a trip to Bonaire, renting a boat is one of the best things you can do for a day. Klein Bonaire, the snorkelling spots, the quiet bays along the coast: they all open up the moment you have your own boat. The question almost everyone asks first, completely fair, is:

In this guide we lay it all out for you. No fine print, no surprises. Just clear prices for 2026, what is included, what is not, and how to pick the right option for your group.

Boat rental prices on Bonaire in 2026

All our prices are in US dollars and per boat (not per person). That means a half day on a sloop for six guests costs the same as a half day on the same sloop for two guests. Splitting the cost with friends or family makes it surprisingly affordable.

Sloop or motorboat: what is the difference in price and feel?

Both options take you to the same beautiful places. The difference is in the vibe and the speed.

Dutch sloops ($195 to $310)

Our sloops are the chill option. Comfortable benches, plenty of shade, easy to step in and out for snorkelling. They cruise at a relaxed pace, which is exactly what most guests want for a day at Klein Bonaire and the quiet bays. If you are coming with kids, grandparents or a group that just wants to enjoy the water, a sloop is usually the smart pick.

Motorboats: Betty Boop and The Hurricane ($220 to $435)

If you want more speed, more power and the option to tube, wakeboard or waterski, you want one of the motorboats. Betty Boop is the all-rounder for watersports lovers. The Hurricane is our newest and biggest, perfect for larger groups who want a bit of everything: speed, space and style.

What is included in the price?

Every rental comes with the basics taken care of:

  • Life jackets for everyone on board
  • A clear briefing about the boat, the coast and the marine park rules
  • A map of the coastline with the best anchor points
  • A free cooler box (without ice) to keep your drinks cold
  • Safety equipment on board
  • No boating license required: we handle the rest

What is not included?

To keep prices fair and honest, a few things are charged separately. They are the same for every guest, so you can plan ahead:

  • Fuel. You only pay for what you use. A relaxed half day along the coast typically uses a lot less than a full day of high-speed cruising.
  • STINAPA Nature Tag. Everyone aged 13 and up who goes in the water needs one. You can buy it online before you arrive on Bonaire.
  • Optional extras. Snorkel gear, fun tube, wakeboard, kneeboard and waterskis can be added when you book.
  • Food and drinks. Bring your own. The cooler box is included so you can stock up at the supermarket on the way to the marina.

Half day or full day: what fits you best?

This is the question most guests wrestle with. Quick rule of thumb:

Pick a half day if: you want a relaxed trip to Klein Bonaire, one or two snorkel stops, and you also want time on shore for lunch or other activities.

Pick a full day if: you want to explore multiple spots, mix snorkelling with watersports, take your time and end the day with a sunset moment back at the marina.

Per hour, a full day is the better deal. But if it is your first time and you are not sure how a long day on the water will feel, a half day is a great way to start.

Split the cost: an example

Because you pay per boat, the more friends you bring, the cheaper it gets per person. A quick example:

Six friends rent the Orange Dutch Sloop for a half day at $195. That is around $33 per person for four hours on your own boat, in Caribbean water, with Klein Bonaire on the menu. Plus fuel.
