Terms and conditions
These terms apply to the use of bonaireboatrentals.com and to every boat rental with Bonaire Boat Rentals. By reserving a boat or using this website you agree to them. Take a moment to read them; if anything is unclear, we are happy to help.
1. Who we are
Bonaire Boat Rentals is a trade name of ABC Cruiseline N.V., located at Harbour Village Marina, Kaya Gobernador N. Debrot No. 71, Kralendijk, Bonaire (Caribbean Netherlands). Where these terms say "we", "us" or "our", we mean ABC Cruiseline N.V. You can reach us at info@bonaireboatrentals.com, +599 701 9999 or +599 701 5500.
2. Booking and payment
- You reserve a boat through this website, WhatsApp, phone or email. A reservation is final once we have confirmed it in writing (email or WhatsApp).
- All prices are in US dollars (USD) and apply per boat, not per person. A half day is 4 hours, a full day 8 hours; start times are listed with each boat.
- Prices and availability may change without notice. For a confirmed reservation, the price in the confirmation applies.
- Obvious errors in prices or descriptions on the website are not binding; we will contact you if that happens.
3. Deposit and fuel
- On arrival a $500 deposit is held on a Mastercard or Visa credit card. The deposit is released after the rental when the boat and equipment are returned complete and undamaged.
- Fuel is not included in the rental price. You pay for what you use on the day of the rental, or the fuel surcharge listed with the boat.
- Optional extras (snorkel gear, fun tube, wakeboard, kneeboard, waterskis) are charged separately.
4. Requirements for the renter and the captain
- No boating licence is needed. The person driving the boat (the captain) is at least 21 years old and shows a valid ID and the credit card for the deposit on arrival.
- Before departure the captain follows our briefing on the dock about the boat, the route, safety and the rules on the water. Without this briefing the boat does not leave.
- The captain remains responsible for the boat, the passengers and behaviour on board for the whole trip, and does not drink alcohol or use drugs.
- The maximum number of people per boat is listed with the boat and may not be exceeded.
5. Use of the boat and rules on the water
Bonaire's waters are a protected marine park. On board, the rules of the Bonaire National Marine Park and our own rules and regulations apply, including:
- Only moor at the yellow moorings; no anchoring on coral and no beaching the boat.
- No sailing between the yellow buoys and the shore, no scuba diving from a rental boat, no access to private marinas.
- In and around Harbour Village Marina, cruise slowly (maximum around 5 mph / 8 km/h) and follow the instructions of our staff.
- Everyone entering the water needs a valid STINAPA Nature Tag, which you buy yourself in advance.
- The boat is returned to Harbour Village Marina at the agreed time. If you return late, we may charge additional rental.
If these rules are broken or in case of dangerous behaviour, we may end the rental immediately without a refund.
6. Damage, loss and liability
- You are liable for damage to or loss of the boat, the engine and the equipment during the rental period caused by careless use or failure to follow the rules. We settle this with the deposit; if the damage exceeds the deposit, we charge the difference.
- We are not liable for loss, theft or damage of personal belongings on board, nor for indirect or consequential damage, to the extent permitted by law. In all cases our liability is limited to the rental amount paid.
- Report damage, breakdowns or accidents to us by phone immediately; you receive the numbers at departure.
7. Cancellation, weather and force majeure
- If you want to cancel or reschedule, contact us as soon as possible. The cancellation conditions that apply to your reservation are stated in your booking confirmation.
- If, in our judgement, going out is not safe (for example because of weather or sea conditions), we reschedule the rental in consultation with you or refund the amount paid.
- We are not liable for being unable to deliver due to force majeure, such as extreme weather, government measures or disruptions beyond our control.
8. Use of the website
- The information on this site is compiled with care but may contain errors or outdated details. We may change the content, prices and offer at any time.
- Texts, photos and videos are the property of Bonaire Boat Rentals and Blue Bay Bonaire and may not be reused without permission.
- Links to third-party websites (for example STINAPA or Google) are outside our responsibility.
- How we handle your personal data is explained in the privacy statement.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms and every rental agreement are governed by the laws of Bonaire (Caribbean Netherlands). In case of a dispute we first try to find a solution together; if that fails, the competent court on Bonaire has jurisdiction. If any provision proves invalid, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page; the date at the top shows when they were last changed. For a confirmed reservation, the terms at the time of confirmation apply.
